While the rest of the world is scrambling to create more renewable energy sources, China is wondering how to best use their abundance.
After last year’s record solar and wind installations, several regions of China have experienced weather-driven surges of electricity coming and going. Energy and grid officials said at a panel discussion at the Boao Asia Forum in Hainan, China on Tuesday that the country must continue to build new energy infrastructure and improve policy and market rules to ensure that such tensions do not slow down the energy transition.
