Clearway Energy Group has completed two phases of its 452 MW Texas Solar Nova complex in Kent County, Texas.
“We are incredibly grateful for our partnership with the local officials, suppliers, construction partners and customers who made this project possible,” said Valerie Wooley, Clearway’s SVP of Origination. “The Texas Solar Nova complex brings new renewable energy to the ERCOT grid thanks to the continued dedication of our partners. We thank Verizon, SKF, and Toyota Boshoku America, among others, for partnering with Clearway to help achieve their decarbonization goals.
Clearway’s Texas Solar Nova purchase agreements support Citizen Verizon, Verizon’s business plan for economic, environmental and social development.
Built with more than 1.1 million solar panels on nearly 5,000 acres, a portion of the renewable attributes of the projects will also go toward supporting SKF and Toyota Boshoku America. Clearway and its construction partner Mortenson supported several local organizations during construction.
In connection with the construction and operation of these facilities, Clearway has assembled a banking consortium consisting of Natixis, DNB, MUFG, NordLB and Societe Generale for construction financing commitments totaling approximately $700 million and term loan commitments of $182 million. The company partnered with Clearway Energy to arrange tax equity for the project, as well as cash equity from HASI.
