The Village of Minooka has worked with Verde Solutions to build a solar energy system that will supply the energy needs of the village’s wastewater treatment plant.
Minooka spared no expense for construction, according to a news release Tuesday. Over the course of the 25-year power purchase agreement, the village will save approximately $533,000.
“The project is a win-win for the village because it will save taxpayers a lot of money while also reducing the village’s carbon footprint,” the news release said. “Thank you to Verde Solutions, LLC and all the village officials who worked to make this possible.”
The village also thanked Illinois Valley Industries, AppleJax Creations and the Grundy County Chamber of Commerce and Industry for joining them at the grand opening.
