Students of tertiary and secondary schools as well as graduates have been recruited from some local government areas as part of the State Government’s capacity building scheme aimed at youth self-employment and employment.
BusinessDay reports that the micro-power generation system training was organized by the Ogun State Government in partnership with ASTEVEN Renewable Energy Institute and focused on solar energy installation and maintenance, solar panel assemblies and construction of inverters for domestic and industrial use.
Speaking at the certificate presentation ceremony for trainees at the ASTEVEN Institute of Renewable Energy, Aseese, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Energy, Olaniji Aisida, said the program was part of the capacity building efforts of the Dapo Abiode-led Administration. to equip young people with the skills required for professional and entrepreneurial growth and development.
Aisida noted that the technological training was undertaken to explore alternative ways to epileptic power supply in an environmentally friendly manner to create a business friendly atmosphere that would enable more corporate and private investments to develop in the state.
